Dr Spooner qualified from Cambridge in 1979 and has been a GP performing minor surgery ever since. She has performed over 7000 vasectomies and is an Any Willing Provider of vasectomies and carpal tunnel surgery in North Essex. She has now all but given up general practice to concentrate on building up Community Surgical Services which are safe, cost-effective and what patients want so let her know if your area needs one! |

Dr Matthew Wordsworth is Honorary Secretary for the ASPC and Chief Executive for Independent Health Group. Matthew continues to work as a GPwSI providing carpal tunnel surgery and vasectomy, his passion is in developing innovative and sustainable patient centred services of the very highest quality. |

Dr Vijay Kumar is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and works in S.Yorkshire as a GP and Community surgical trainer. He has previous experience of working as a Breast and laparoscopic Surgeon .He Provides a community based surgical service locally and assists in commissioning , training and Governance process on surgical services being set up and run in the north West of England. He has over 21 years of Experience in the NHS. He is passionate about Health care reform and has visited and observed Changing healthcare Delivery in parts of Europe, America ,Asia and the Middle East. He is the lead GP on the Leadership Training for GP Consortia Development for the Yorkshire and Humber SHA. He is commissioned by the RCGP -Yorkshire Faculty to run the Minor Surgery course and is its Current Course Director. He is a Member of the Royal College of GP's and the American Academy of Family Practice. |

Dr Jonathan Botting works in Barnes SW London as a GP and GP trainer. As well as community based minor surgery he is a dermatological surgeon at Chelsea & Westminster and Queen Mary’s Hospitals. He created and is Programme Director for the Diploma in Minor Surgery run by Rila. He is commissioned by the London Deanery to teach minor surgery to GP registrars and is the RCGP Clinical Champion for minor surgery. |

Dr Tony Feltbower has been a GP for 27 years and Chair of BANSV for 3 years. He used to be a GP trainer, but now just trains others in NSV. He also chairs a large PBC in Coventry and liaises closely with the local PCT on commissioning services. He has Occupational Health qualifications and experience, as well as the Cardiff University Expert Witness Certificate, providing medico-legal reports for claimants and defendants. |

Dr Paul Cundy is a GP in Wimbledon, South West London and has been a keen minor operator for all 28 years of his career. He has extensive experience in medical politics and IT having lead the professions senior IT committee on IT for 9 years. He has championed the professions stand on privacy and confidentiality particularly in relation to the Summary Care Record and created and negotiated the IT section of the nGMS contract. He negotiated the legitimisation of electronic records for GPs and co-authors the linked Good Practice Guidelines for electronic records for GPs. He is a local LMC member and the regional representative on the GPC for Merton, Sutton and Wandsworth. |

Dr Soon Lim is the Director of Minor Surgery for the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Faculty of the RCGP and co-author of the new RCGP Standard GP Minor Surgery. His agenda is the defence of the reputation of GPs who carry out minor surgery through the formal assessment of skills and knowledge for accreditation. He works as a speciality doctor in skin surgery for the West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust and is a vasectomy and minor surgery GPwSI across two PCTs. |

Mr Raj Dhumale commenced offering surgical services from a GP setting in 1994. He was the first GP surgeon to perform and offer hernia surgery as a routine elective service in the UK from the stand alone GP setting. He was awarded the 'Doctor of the Year' in 1997 for his innovative surgical service in Primary care. He is a member of the American and European Hernia Societies. |
