ASPC Working Alone Statement 2025

In the past 12 months, two members have contacted us after being asked to operate without anyone else present to assist or support them.

The ASPC's position is clear: no clinician should be expected or pressured to operate alone for any procedure. This is a matter of safety, professionalism, and appropriate clinical standards.

If you're ever asked to work solo and you're not comfortable, please direct your manager or employer to our attached official ASPC Working Alone Statement, which supports your right to work safely and responsibly.

And if you still don’t receive the support you need, let the ASPC Council know—we’re here to back you up.
